Q: How do I pick the right size seat?
A: A ISP
seat’s width is based on the width of your hips. Using only a straight edge ruler have the driver sit on a bench with
legs hanging over the side. Measure the width of the hips through the center line of the body side to side. Do not measure
across the lap of the driver as this will give a larger than required measurement. Take this measurement as the size of the
seat you need. If it is 15” then you would order a 15” seat. If it is 15 ¾” go to a 16” seat.
(Detailed Instructions)
Q: What if I need to make a change to a ISP seat?
A:
Whether you want to lower the ribs an inch or make a major modification, we can custom build any seat to your specifications.
To order a custom seat we will need a completed custom order form and any special details written on paper and faxed to us at (704) 455-2009. A hard copy of your information is
the only way we will build a custom ISP seat. We strongly recommend against you modifying the seat after it has been
purchased; this can compromise the strength and safety of the seat.
Q: Can I get extra supports for
my ISP seat?
A: ISP offers additional seat mountable supports and restraints for extra
protection. Head, shoulder and leg supports are available and mount to any of our seats. These supports offer increased protection
and help reduce driver fatigue.
Q: I was in an accident and my ISP seat
is bent, what should I do?
A: If the seat is bent, wrinkled, separated or in any way
deformed then it should be replaced, the structure of the seat has been compromised. Using a seat that is deformed will only
increase your risk of injury.
Q: If I Powder Coat my ISP seat can I get replacement
molding and foam?
A: Powder coating any aluminum racing seat has been proven to reduce
it's ability to protect you in an accident. Heating any aluminum in an oven will remove temper and soften the
material.
Q: Will my seat work with the HANS device?
A:
Yes, ISP offers a offset head retrofit kit that can be added to most any high or lowback seat, we do however recomend using
our stealth head and shoulder supports. Do not use a seat with a head support or shoulder support only, both devices
must be used as a system.
Q: Why should I choose ISP to build my aluminum racing
seat?
A: Because ISP seats are the best and most tested racing seats available.
All ISP products are the safest and most comfortable. Each seat is designed to protect the individual driver, ensuring
the best fit. ISP seats have a stellar record both in the lab and on the track. No other safety systems manufacturer
has performed more sled tests than ISP. ISP seats are race proven - check out the "ISP in the media" link on this web site for press releases related to our success. ISP seats fit best, protect best, and let you
